Paterson Joseph, the distinguished actor, performed excerpts from his debut novel The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho, the famous Georgian man of letters who escaped from a background of slavery, to become a composer and best-selling author, he was the first known person of African descent to vote in a parliamentary election in England.

Paterson was accompanied by composer/musician, Ben Park offering us musical and historical tributes to Sancho who was married and his children baptised in St Margaret's Church where the performance took place in October 2023. Original marriage and birth certificates were on display during the evening.
